Wymon Mark Stanlick, beloved husband, father, Grandpa, brother and father-in-law, passed peacefully January 2, 2014, encircled in the warm embraces and loving hearts of his family at Sarnia Bluewater Hospital. He was 82 years of age.
Mark was born in Don Mills Ontario on February 17, 1931, one of three boys and two daughters of the late Gordon and Honor (Taylor) Stanlick. He is survived by brother Raymond of Peterborough, Ontario, brother Roy of Peterborough, Ontario and predeceased by sister's Nina (Russell) Taylor of Barwick, Ontario, Fay (Jack) Ridgers of Sarnia, Ontario and brother Gerald (Gertie) of London, Ontario.
On June 30th, 1950, Wymon Mark married Doris June (Moor) of Chatham, Ontario, his lifelong love and surviving partner of sixty-three years. Together in Wallaceburg, Ontario, while opening and operating Stanlick Sheet Metal, they raised four children, Debbie Kuntz of Courtright, Ontario, Brad (Joanne) Stanlick of Sombra, Ontario, Lee (Eileen) Stanlick of Sarnia, Ontario and Denise (John) Menzies of Brights Grove, Ontario.
Mark enjoyed many varied interests during his life but "Grandpa" found by far his greatest joy spending time with his ten grandchildren, Sean Kuntz (Debbie), Mitchell and Andrew Stanlick (Brad and Joanne), Megan, Wymon, Clayton, Kaylee Stanlick (Lee and Eileen) and Heather, Eric and Sara Menzies (Denise and John) and with his ever growing crop of great grandchildren, Baine, Hailey, Kaia, Nash, Taylor, Carter, Mia, Covie and Sofie.
"Dad you left each of us with so much more than a lifetime of wonderful experiences, memories and wise counsel that already we've been able to draw upon to share and lessen our collective grief. We miss you terribly and will continue to cherish your memory until we're able to once again hold you. We love you, and promise to continue to do our best."
As per Mark's final request a private cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2014 in Don Mills, Ontario. Personal expressions of sympathy can be made through donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. We wish also to thank the extraordinary staff in the Telemetry Unit of Sarnia Bluewater Health for the excellent care they provided.
