WILLIAM (BILL) FRANCIS HANLEY

January 30, 1944-July 3, 2016

Like a butterfly in flight,

You drifted to paradise,

A journey to the rainbows end,

Leaving broken hearts to mend.

It’s with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Hanley. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many.

Bill was a dedicated and proud retiree of CSX Rail Transport. He always had exciting stories to share about his adventures on the railroad. He was a die hard NY Yankees fan and never missed a game. When he wasn’t watching the Yankees or Red Wings, Bill loved heading out to catch a Sarnia Sting game with his family. He was always quick with a joking remark and funny face, Bill liked to make us all laugh. He was loved by all who met him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Jean (Fournie), daughter Darlene (Glen Bonham), son Dennis (Alexis Mulyk), son Mike (Jessica Fisher), siblings Bob and Wendy Hanley, Patty and Doug Kennington, many grandchildren Dustin and Nikki Barwise, Tasha Barwise, Collin, Mya, Ava, Noah, great grandchildren Bella and Bentley and many nieces and nephews Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Ann Hanley. He will be greatly missed by his loyal kitten Katie.

His family will forever cherish his gift of love, support and generosity. A loving and soulful man, who has always been there for us, Bill will be missed dearly, but forever in our hearts.

Please join Bill's family in a celebration of his life that will be held at the Camlachie Community Centre, 6767 Camlachie Road, Camlachie on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 1:00-4:00pm. We invite friends and family to come to share fond memories and stories of Bill's life and remember this great man.
