William "Bill" Gilbert

GILBERT, Bill (William) GEORGE STAVELY – At the age of 76, Bill Gilbert passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Petrolia on April 4, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife June Gilbert, nee Thompson and Daughter Deborah Gilbert. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family in the Dominican Republic. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Ruth Gilbert, his sisters Harriet (Bailey) Ford, Ruthann Harmsworth and his brother Charles Gilbert. Bill had worked with the Lambton Kent School Board for many years and loved volunteering with many organizations in Sarnia. He loved to sing God’s praises. His motto in life was “Heart to God hand to mankind.” Family and friends will be received at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Sunday April 8, 2018, between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday April 9, 2018 at 2:30pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Following the committal at the cemetery there will be a luncheon at Lakeshore Community Church in Bright's Grove.  Memorial donations made in memory of Bill to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, Sarnia District Humane Society or Wanda’s Wish would be appreciated by the family. Memories and messages of condolence may be made through www.djrobb.on.ca .
