William (Bill) Gansler

February 1, 1922 — July 18, 2010

GANSLER William G. (Bill) 鯿½é¯¿½" on July 18th, 2010 cherished and adored husband and best friend of Betty Gansler (nee Gregory) for nearly 65 years passed away after a short illness at the age of 88. Bill was born and educated in Toronto graduating from the University of Toronto in 1947, Bill was still active as the permanent President of the Engineering class of '47. Bill was a Lieutenant in the Canadian Navy serving on corvettes from May 1942 to September 1945. Bill and Betty moved to Sarnia in 1954 forming their company, Tubefit Ltd. in 1955 till 1985, then founding Datasar Inc. with longtime associate Allen Ho. His many achievements include Past President Rotary Club of Sarnia, he was especially proud of having The William G. Gansler Award named in his honor (Rotary). Past President United Appeal and Chairman Board of Govenors Lambton College. Bill was also an active member for over 50 years with the Sarnia golf and curling club. He was a devoted uncle and friend to Linda Hinchliffe (Jim) of Freelton, ON, Greg Moore (Ainsley) of Nanoose Bay, BC and Sandra Sims of Rochester Hills, MI as well as many other nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Chong and staff at Sarnia General Hospital and Dr. Madison and Dr. Dostaler and staff St. Joseph's Hospice. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Bill's life to take place at Grace United Church, Indian Road and Cathcart Blvd., Sarnia on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 North Christina Street, Sarnia, ON N7T 5W3 would be gratefully appreciated. Messages of condolence may be sent to djrobbfh@ebtech.net.
