William Joseph Beamish

October 13, 1929 — February 27, 2016

BEAMISH, WILLIAM – We regret to inform you that William (Bill) Joseph Beamish, born in Palmerston, Ontario on October 13, 1929 passed away in his sleep on February 27, 2016. Bill had struggled with Alzhiemer's disease for many years which robbed him of many of life’s pleasures and reduced his world from one of golf courses, driving, and independence to one of small pleasures. He liked a good scratch and maintained a hearty appetite.  Sometimes his eyes would regain their old sparkle and he would surprise those around him with a zinger or two, his personality reasserting itself if only for a moment. And oh, how he could roar! Bill was the baby in his family. He was predeceased by his father Esmond and mother Mary, sisters Dorthea and Grace, all his brothers in law. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth, Vera and Catherine. Bill was the much loved father of Marlon Lane and her Evan was his go to guy for more than 47 years. Bill was also loved by his son and namesake Bill junior and his wife Lauri. He had 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren who loved him very much. Bill was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and upon retirement he was the co-owner of the Pinewood Motel in Ipperwash Beach Ontario with his beloved wife the late Marion Crawford Beamish. In his retirement he also sold real estate and helped many couples find their dream homes. Bill was known as a great story teller and a better than average golfer. His hole in one ball was always prominently displayed in his office. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca

“The family would like to thank his caregivers who did a wonderful job in keeping him safe, fed and comfortable throughout his years of struggle.”
