BOND, Warwick (Wally) of Sarnia passed away at home on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the age of 75 years. He was the loving husband of the late Doreen (Cassidy) Bond (2008) and cherished father of Carol Launderville (Jeff) of Sarnia, dear brother of Colin and Barbara of England. Wally found his greatest joy in his family, while his seafaring days provided many fascinating adventures. As a young man Wally served in the British Merchant Navy before sailing around the world on cable-laying ships as an Electrical Engineer, with years spent in Fiji, New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. After marrying the love of his life Wally and his family emigrated to Canada. A career as a public servant followed at the Ontario Clean Water Agency in Point Edward. Wally's life spoke for itself; an example of simple decency, moderation and good character. His courage was especially present in the final months of his life and, as in all such lives, the genuine greatness is felt only in the loss. Wally's family wishes to thank Dr. William Gannon and his caring team, the D. J. Robb Funeral Home staff, and Sarnia's Fire, Ambulance and Police Services - all of whom responded with professionalism and genuine compassion at a most difficult time. Private family cremation services have taken place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society. A celebration of Wally's life will be enjoyed by his family and friends in the near future. Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
