Virginia Marie Nicholson

NICHOLSON, VIRGINIA – Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Thursday, June 6, 2019, Virginia Marie (Burgess) Nicholson, age 89 of Sarnia passed away. She was the loving wife of the late George Nicholson (1993) and dear mother of Theresa Nicholson and Elizabeth Vinton (Christopher), grandmother of Nicholas Ritonja and Curtis Ritonja (Kayla), great-grandmother of Allie and Miles. She also survived by her sister Frances Taggart and her nephew Blake who called her once a week and her special friend Ida Hack. She was predeceased by her parents Lowell and Helen (Neaves) Burgess, her sister Blanche, and brother in law Harry. Virginia retired from Simpson Sears and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Catholic Women’s League and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.  Visitation will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (102 Victoria St. N., Sarnia) on Tuesday 11th between the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church (Christina at London Rd.) on Wednesday, June 12th at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society of Canada or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.
