Verdun Smith

At Afton Park Place on Friday, June 12, 2009, VERDUN ALEXANDER SMITH, age 93, of Sarnia, beloved husband of the late Mary Genelda (Smith) Smith. Loving father of Christie V. Smith and his wife Donna, Gerald L. Smith and his wife Susan and Ronald M. Smith all of Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Shelley L. Turner, William J. Smith, Sherry Lynn Lavoie, Stephen G. Smith and Jason E. Smith and seven great grandchildren. Brother of Shirley Rick. Predeceased by sisters F. Alvena Cook and June Swanson and brother Ken Smith. Mr. Smith retired from Imperial Oil Ltd. after 32 years of service. He served in the Community of Christ Church as an Elder. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Monday, June 15th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
