At a time of loss within the family, Tom ensured all extended family members were notified He was affectionately known as 'Pappa Tom' by Ef la, Arya & Kai Galaski of Ajax. (Katie & Jordan's children)
Born in Toronto, Ontario. A retiree of Unilever after 18 yrs. of service. Previously employed by Toronto Hydro, Denison mines, CCM, Toronto Star & numerous paymaster positions within Canada. Tom worked as a professional bartender at Leaside Curling Arena, where we met at a Valentine's dance (2003).
He was one of the most unselfish, honorable individuals, who would do anything for anyone to help out. He always was a gentleman of principle. He loved people, most importantly children. His late mother knew he would be late coming home from school, as he had stopped to help someone. He was that person who put others ahead of himself.
Tom had a lifelong love of sports, music & classic movies. He was gifted with a beautiful singing voice which I was privy to for 38 yrs. He loved our Schnauzers Lexis, Nicky & Trev.
I am so grateful we were able to fulfill his bucket list trip to Hawaii (Jan. 2020). We were accompanied by Michael Reid. Tom enjoyed it to fullest. He went on his first helicopter trip in Kauai. We had many memories from our trip together.
Upon his diagnosis of Parkinson's, we gained friends within Sarnia area. They were like an extended family. He belonged to the 'Rock Steady' boxing group. They remembered him for his quick sarcastic comments, patience & caring heart. He developed some special friendships within the group. He had a wonderful rapport with several shop members he frequented.
A special thank you to the staff of the ICU & Palliative Care of Bluewater Health, Carpenter & the LHIN for their care & compassion.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Southwestern Ontario Parkinson's Association, Bluewater Palliative Care, St. Joseph's Hospice or a Charity of your Choice
