Susan Elizabeth Rausa

SUSAN RAUSA, age 70

It is with sadness that the family of Susan Rausa (nee Hunsperger) announce her passing on June 1, 2021 after a brief illness in Sarnia, Ontario.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years Rick and her children Dave (Natalie) Rausa and Carrie (Scott) Maure.  Sue will also be fondly remembered as “Gramma” by Andrew, Michael, Jack & Elizabeth.  She is also survived by her mother Barbara, Jo (Mike) Boss, her nieces Kim (Andrew) Dietrich, their children Jovie & Ben, & Jenn (Kevin) Roth and their children Oscar & Hazel, & brother-in-law & sister-in-law John & Judy Rausa.  Sue was predeceased by her father Elmer “Gerry” Hunsperger, brother Doug, sister-in-law Janet, nephew Keith & niece Rachel.

Sue taught in both the Public & Separate School Systems over the course of over 35 years.  She will be deeply missed by many, but her family & friends take comfort in the incredible legacy she leaves, having touched the lives of thousands of students, fellow teachers and parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Once public protocols allow for it, a Celebration of Sue’s Life will be planned and announced.
