RILEY, Ruth (nee: Bayley) In loving memory, of Ruth Riley (nee: Bayley) who passed away peacefully and courageously, surrounded by family, at her home in the early morning of October 18th, 2023. Ruth was the loving wife of William Joseph Riley and dedicated mother of Karen Riley, Kevin (Tracey) Riley, Michael (Danielle Arbour) Riley and Kelley (Andrew) Stewart. She was a caring role-model and the proud grandmother of Joshua, Kristen, Kirk, William, Lauren, Emma, Liam, Kieran and Ava, and the great-grandmother of Hailey, Emmitt, Mae, Zoey and Isabel. Ruth was born in Yorktown, Saskatchewan on September 5th, 1934. She later moved to Hamilton with her parents George Bayley and Eithne Bayley (née McGrath). She had a very close relationship with her three sisters, Doreen, Joan and Shelagh. Ruth completed her three-year RN degree at Hamilton General before moving to Quebec then later to Courtright and Sarnia with her husband Bill. She encouraged each of her children to attend a post secondary institute in order to achieve their academic goals. Ruth’s love of cooking, gardening and reading will not be forgotten. Her strength and humility was an example to us all, and her perfectionism lead her to excel in every area. Ruth lived a full, blessed life enjoying many wonderful moments with her family. Ruth will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Ian Campbell for many years of care. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the whole Palliative Care team of Sarnia Lambton. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society Sarnia. Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 5W9). Memories, messages of condolence or photographs may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca.
