Cudmore, Ruby, Florence (Hicks)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ruby Cudmore (Hicks), age 87 of Sarnia. She peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2021 at Marshall Gowland Manor. She is survived by her loving sons, Gary and wife Donna, Robert and wife Annette, Jeff and wife Margret. She leaves behind her Grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Tina, Pam, Dustin, Missy, Shane, Luke, Seth, Shannon and Eric and several Great Grandchildren. Ruby was born on the Indian Islands, Newfoundland on January 17th, 1933. She married Eldon Bramwell Hicks, and they moved to Ontario where they raised their three sons in Sarnia. Following Eldon’s passing in 1986, Mom spent her time focused on helping raise her Grandchildren and activities as a member of St. Luke’s United Church in Sarnia where she made many friends. Whenever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit, Mom was thrilled and delighted; she was always a selfless person and focused on her family, typically putting their needs ahead of her own. Later in life, Mom remarried and is predeceased by her second husband, Nelson Cudmore (October 1st, 2020). The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Staff at Marshall Gowland Manor for making Ruby a part of your family and providing such a high quality of care, she always mentioned how much she enjoyed the relationships she had at MGM.  A private service will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
