Sergeant Major Roy Clark Atkinson CA, in his 99th year at Bluewater Health on January 9th, 2015. Born in Howard Twp., Kent Co, predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maxine. Dear father of Sandra (Tom) Kittrell of Pembroke Pines Florida, Greg (Audrey) of Sarnia, Dean (Marjorie) of London, Doug (Leslie) of London, Jill (Bruce) Kaija of Sarnia, Ross (Colleen) of Forest. Also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Brothers Jim, Stuart, Leigh and Glen and sisters Jean, Gladys and Annie Laurie. Clark was a Chartered Accountant and partner in W.L. Smith & Co. and subsequently a manager with BDO Dunwoody LLP, providing specialized financial services to a number of clients. Clark was devoted to his family and particularly enjoyed camping, picnics and other family gatherings as well as travelling. Clark joined the Canadian Army in 1942 and was a member of the CMSC (Canadian Military Staff Clerks) stationed at Army Headquarters in London Ontario. Clark was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, becoming a life member, awarded the Meritorious Order of Merit and other awards. In 1951 he was a founding member of the Sarnia Sertoma Club and was named to the 2011 Mayors List. Many thanks to the staff at Trillium Villa Retirement Home and the caring staff at 3rd floor Bluewater Health. Interment has taken place and the family will celebrate Clark's Life at a future date.
