Ronald Smith

SMITH, Ronald James - of Sarnia, Ontario passed away peacefully at his residence é¢a‚A"Afton Park Placeé¢a‚ on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Ron had just celebrated his 81st birthday on January 9, 2013. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, he was a special person. Ron leaves his daughters and their families - Tracey Smith (Larry Thigpen) and son Jordan and Stephanie Thomas (Delroy) and sons Anthony and Gibson. Ron comes from a large family and he leaves his brothers and sisters Robert (Dorothy Knight), Ralph, Catherine (Don Wardell) and Carol (Terry McCullough). He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Ken, Ross and Darlene and is survived by in-laws Dorothy Alexander, Karen Smith and Don Turnbull and predeceased by sister- in-law Mary Lou Smith. Fondly remembered by Sharon (Smith) Garrison. Ron is survived by many nieces and nephews who all thought highly of é¢a‚A"Uncleé¢a‚ Ron. Ron retired from Polysar after 37 years of service. The family appreciates the care and compassion that Ron received from the staff at é¢a‚A"Afton Park Place.é¢a‚ Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 18th, 2013 at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service in honour of Ron will be held on Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Ontario Lung Association or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
