On July 13, 2015, Robert (Bob) McBeth Smith, age 80 of Sarnia, passed away peacefully at the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit, predeceased by his cherished wife Mary (Greenwood) Smith in 2004. Left to mourn his passing with all their hearts are his children, Mary Denise (John), David (Sue), Karen (Dave), Brian (Judy) and Steve (Jackie). He was the muched loved papa of 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Survived by brother Nate (Thelma), brother in law Henry (Pat) and sister in law Veronica, special friend of George Knowles and extended family and friends. Dad has lived his life to the fullest, curling, golfing and traveling. After retiring from Polysar/Bayer in 1992 he traveled 325,000 kilometers throughout North America on his motorcycle with his sons and 'brothers'. Dad set the example for all who knew and loved him to live in the present, take advantage of opportunities to love, laugh, and laugh some more. No matter where Dad traveled, in his heart the best place was home with his family and friends. A special thank you for exceptional care and compassion to Dr. Maddison, Dr. Stoesser, the CCAC nursing team and Bluewater Health Palliative Care staff. The family would like to welcome friends and family to celebrate a life well lived at the Navy Club, 1420 Lougar, Sarnia, on Saturday July 18th from 1pm to 4pm. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts to St. Joseph's Hospice or the Inn of the Good Sheppard would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
