Robert William Buckingham

At Afton Park Place on Friday, September 16, 2022, Robert “Bob” William Buckingham, age 94 of Sarnia passed away. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Jane (Vaughan) Buckingham (2018) and the late Lily Maude (Wilkinson) Buckingham (1979). He was the dear father of six children; Deborah, Karen Joyce, Kenneth, Barbara, Linda and Leonard, cherished daughter-in law Karen Lee, grandfather of Cliff, Norman, Rae-Lin, Devin, Kristie-Lyn, Kyla, Robyn, Bridgette, Renee and Michelle and had lots of love from his 11 great-grandchildren. He is also predeceased by his brothers John, Thomas, Duncan (Teddy) and his sister Veronica. He is missed by his many friends and extended family. He was also predeceased by his parents George and Catherine, daughters Karen Joyce, Barbara, Linda and sons, Kenneth and Leonard and his son in law Terence Dewan.

Bob was a Purchasing Agent and worked with Catalytic, Sun Oil and CPN Construction-Project Management of Sarnia. He was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #62, the Royal Canadian Naval Association and was a Past President of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, Past Executive with the SMAA Softball and a Hockey Coach. Memorial donations made to the Bluewater Health Foundation through foundation@bluewaterhealth.ca  would be appreciated by the family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 am with Canon Vicars Hodge officiating. A graveside service of committal will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. A light lunch will follow at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Naval Association, 1420 Lougar Avenue, Sarnia. Memories, messages of condolence or photographs may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca
