At Twin Lakes Terrace on Saturday, February 26, 2011, FREDERICK GEORGE HARRY (RICK) ROGERS, age 88, of Sarnia, beloved husband of Amy (Wright) (Sloan) Rogers. Survived by his son Iain and his wife Nida Rogers of Hong Kong. He will be missed by his step children Sharron Mc Gowan (Tony), Paul Sloan (Pat), Jim Sloan and (Linda) all of Sarnia. Also missed by his grandchildren Colin and Sharon Mc Gowan of Calgary, Jeremy Rogers of England, Christopher Sloan and Catherine Mc Neely of Toronto, Nicolas Rogers of England, Kevin and Shikha Mc Gowan of Ottawa, James and Tracy Sloan of Sarnia. Will be missed by great grand children Miguel, James, Makenna, Kai, Spencer, Manix, Rohan, Sebastian, Morgan. Also survived by brothers Roy and Valerie Rogers, Harry Rogers and his sister, Joan Collins, all of England. Rick was born on July 2, 1922 in England. Rick was a World War ll Veteran of the Royal Navy serving from 1939 - 1946. Rick was a life member of the Lion's Club International and was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship. Rick was also a former Commanding Officer of Sarnia Sea Cadets (Repulse). Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday March 1, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Sarnia Sea Cadets, Parkinson's Association or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family (cheques only please).
