Raymond Simpkins

Peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospice on Saturday April 30th, 2011, RAYMOND HARRY SIMPKINS at the age of 72. Born and raised in Sarnia, Ray was a committed family man who enjoyed sharing his passion for farming in Magnetewan, his love for fishing, dogs and the outdoors with his wife and daughters. He also enjoyed golfing. Well known throughout the community for having a cheery hello and a Werther's candy for everyone he met. Ray is survived by his wife of 49 years Theresa (Guzik) Simpkins and 3 daughters, Brenda Driver and her husband Al, Karen Campbell and her husband Chris and Diane Simpkins and her husband Bob Allen. Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Stephanie, Eric, Jennifer, Samantha, Jessica, Jacob, Kayla and Lauren. Ray had retired from Polysar after 37 years of service. Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where services will be held on Wednesday May 4th at 11:00 am. with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Joseph's Hospice (cheques only please).
