Phyllis Hope Smith

December 13, 1930 — February 20, 2015

In the comfort of her home, after a brief illness, PHYLLIS HOPE SMITH passed away in Sarnia on Feb. 20, 2015 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Tom "Bing" Smith (2008). She will be greatly missed by her children: John (Brenda), Mada), Mary-Anne (Steve Tower), Richard (Robin), Carolyn (Brent Armstrong), and Catharine. Beloved Grandmother to: Christine, Justin, Jennifer (Paul), Tara, Aaron, David (Olivia), Colleen (Ali), Danielle, Scott, Paul, Sarah (Justin), Jordan, Adam, Deirdre, and Gillian. Loving Great Grandmother to: Ethan, Norah, Madeline, and Charlotte. Dear sister to: Ivy, Harry and late sisters May and Alice. Mom will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature not only with her family, but to those less fortunate. She volunteered regularly for the Inn of the Good Shepherd and often showed up with an extra bag of groceries. She was a member of Laurel-Lea St. Matthews Presbyterian Church for 32 years and lifelong member of the WMS. A memorial service will be held at Laurel-Lea St. Matthews Presbyterian Church (837 Exmouth St. Sarnia) on Tuesday at 2:00 with visitation one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to her favourite charities, the Salvation Army or the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
