Philip James Reece (b: Aug 23rd 1951 d: June 22nd 2021)
The family of Phil Reece are saddened to announce his passing at University Hospital in London Ontario on June 22nd 2021 as the result of a stroke which occurred the previous week. Phil was born in Sarnia and resided most of his life in the city. He was employed as an industrial mechanic/millwright with the Dow Chemical Company for 24 years prior to its closure in 2008. He continued working in the Chemical Valley as an insulator with Nel- Tekk Industries and Safway until his retirement in 2020. He is survived by his daughter Meghan Heritage (John) and his precious grandsons Jack and Henry Heritage all of Grand Haven Michigan, and his father Earl Reece of Sarnia. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Debbie) of Stratford Ontario, his niece Sarah Reece (Danike) of Toronto On., and nephew Adam Reece of Miami Florida. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Reece (1973) and his mother Reta Reece (2020). Phil will deeply miss his long-time dearest friend and companion Diana Furlotte of Sarnia and her family, great friends John Murray Jr., and Hady Murray, Ron Bloxam, Mike and Sue West, all of Sarnia, Jim Fayed of Port Huron MI., as well as his many other wonderful friends, neighbours, and his Tim Horton’s coffee club associates with whom he met daily. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid 19, there will be no funeral home visitation and a private interment will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia conducted by The Rev. Steve Harnadek of All Saints Anglican Church Sarnia. In keeping with the family’s wishes it is requested that those wishing to honour Phil’s life may do so by making a donation to the charity of their choice or by following Phil’s example and registering with the Ontario Trillium Gift of Life Organ Donation Network.
