At Meadowview Villa Nursing home in Petrolia on Sunday, August 11, 2024, Philip Lloyd Miller passed away at the age of 84. He was the dear husband of Alida Catharina (Scott) Miller and loving father of Karen Gardner (Russ), Lori Swartz (Jason) and Stephen Miller (Kristy), grandfather of Courtney (Marco), Nicholas, Layla, Samantha (Cody), Savannah and great-grandchildren Ella, Irene and James, brother of Diane Dodge, Jim Miller (Sheryl), Margie Burfield (Wally) and Ronnie Miller (Cheryl). Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parent James and Flora, his mother Verna, his sister Rebecca and his grandson Ryan. Phil served with the Royal Canadian Army and as a Parliament Guard for many years. He worked in manufacturing with Fiberglas and Dow Chemical, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, the Blue Jays, crossword puzzles. He was also a very talented artist and helped design the Bluewater Anglers logo. Charitable donations made in Phil’s memory to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br #62, 286 N. Front Street, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5S7 would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Friday evening, August 16, 2024 between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held the following day on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery. Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
