Patrice “Pat” E. Kelley
July 1st 1960 - May 20, 2022
With indescribable grief, after a short aggressive battle with colon cancer, Pat succumbed to her illness surrounded by family at 3:20pm May 20th, 2022 at the age of 61. Pat wore many “hats”, she put her huge heart into inspiring everyone she met. Her compassionate and selfless nature was just one of the many qualities she possessed. Pat was extremely involved in her community and was always an enthusiastic participant in adventure with impeccable fashion sense. Loving her travels to the East Coast and Costa Rica. She dedicated her time to a variety of organizations such as Big Sisters and Skate Sarnia. She was a firm believer in supporting anyway she could, whether it be sharing the gift of her infamous baking, her passion for skating, conversing with the neighbourhood kids or even just being a listening ear without judgement. Her academic achievements were very proud moments for her, she was constantly in education mode, knowing that there was always something new to learn. She was a tea sipping book nerd of the best kind. She prided herself in her Finance role at City Hall, following in the footsteps of her father. She adored her sunflower enriched garden and handcrafted art pieces. By far her biggest fan was her dog Wulfy. They absolutely adored each other. Without a doubt, they had their own special bond, as with everyone she interacted with.
Pat is eagerly welcomed in the afterlife by her late mother and father David and Bronwen Kelley (Ross), oldest sister Mercedes Mills, Aunty Beth Parker and Aunty Di (Diane) Forsythe. Pat will be missed by her twin sister Pam Kelley, her baby sister Jennifer Robb (Bill), tender sister Heather May, many cousins, especially Maureen, Nancy, Janet, Uncle John Ross (Gwen) and Uncle Owen Forsythe. Though Pat did not have any children of her own, she made her nieces and nephews feel like they were exactly that. Kelly Mortensen, David Mills, Justin Vail, Ashley Mills, Rebecca May and Amanda May, great nephews and niece Thomas, Morgan-Ryle and Mercedes Mills. Her entire skating community, longtime besties, co-workers, volunteer members, her “little sisters” and neighbours will all feel her loss.
Funeral services will be held at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Tuesday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be followed at Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 (286 Front Street, North, Sarnia) following the interment for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
