At home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, surrounded by his family, Nicholas David Simmons, age 75, peacefully went to be with our Lord after a long and very courageous battle. Beloved husband and best friend of Eleanor Simmons (Wolff) for over 51 years. Cherished father of Dean (Deanna) Simmons and Mike Simmons. Cherished grandfather to Keith Simmons, Matt Simmons, Jerian Latawiec (son of Sonia Blain-Mara) and Christina Blain, all of Sarnia. Angie, his faithful furry companion, brought light to Nick's life. Also survived by his brother-in-law Clark Wolff (Doreen) of Olds, AB and his sister Laura Simmons of Hamilton, ON.
Nick was an accomplished musician, playing in several bands over the years. He was also an adventurous entrepreneur, starting up Lambton Hobby and Crafts, bringing the Big Boy Restaurant to Sarnia. Nick was the owner-operator of AAA Boating where he enjoyed travelling Canada to provide Pleasurecraft Operator Cards at trade shows during his "retirement". He worked in different industries throughout his career, retiring from Electrozad after many years of service. He was happiest when he was with his family; whether on the golf course, quietly fishing, coaching hockey, driving cross country or flying to another continent. In his retirement
he built a home at Deer Run where he made many more friends whom he valued greatly. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
In honour of Nick's wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
