Monica Ann Mara

Monica Ann Mara (Bray), December 30, 1939 to July 22, 2019

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Nana, Great Nana; Monica Ann Mara (Bray) at Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit on July 22, 2019.  Beloved Wife of the late Jerry William Mara (1998).  Monica leaves behind her 7 boys; John (Cindy), Alan (Teri), Bill (Cheryl), Jerry Jr, David (Lucy), Jim (Laura), Mike (Jenn) along with her 17 grandchildren; Floyd (Jessica), Stephanie, Katie (Dustin), AJ , Morgan, Karly, Devin, Joslyn, Cody, TJ (Jessica), Mackenzie, Marissa, Cassandra, Jordan, Jaymie, Noah and Tayler, plus 5 great grandchildren; Zach, Brodey, Hayden, Claire and Lyla.  She is survived by her brother Owen (Theresa), brother in law Peter (Linda), sisters in law, Nancy (Bob), Julie as well as many nieces and nephews.  Monica worked as a cook at the local 914, Point Edward Community Hall and the Huron Boys Home.  She also enjoyed her time as "the Point Edward crossing guard".  Point Edward was always home to Monica, where her and Jerry raised their boys and was a big contributor to Point Edward Minor Hockey.  Monica loved being with her boys and her daughters in law, but most of all she love being Nana and Great Nana.  Monica was a tough woman, who put up a great fight right until the end.   Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE where services will be held on Thursday July 25th at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday July 24th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of service.  We would like to thank the nurses in ICU, the Stroke Recovery Unit and the Palliative care unit.  Also to Dr. Davies and Dr. Lilly for making Monica comfortable during her last days.  In lieu of flowers we ask you please donate to the Huron House Boys Home, Lakeshore Rd, Brights Grove Ontario.
