Mona MacGregor

Peacefully, surrounded by her family at her residence on Friday, September 18, 2009, MONA IRENE (EDGAR) MacGREGOR, age 86, of Sarnia, beloved wife of the late Morley Bruce MacGregor (1990). Dear mother of Milton (Martha) of Barrie, Douglas (Evelyn) of Watford, Alexander (Natalie) of Vernon, B.C., Eugene (Dianne) of Wallaceburg, Norma Graham (James) of Sarnia, Larry (Lynda) of Corunna and Marjorie Blankenstyn (Hank) of Georgetown. 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 nieces also survive. Dear sister of Lorne Edgar (Evelyn) of Petrolia and sister-in-law of Marie Rutledge of Sarnia. A lifelong Sarnia area resident, Mona retired in 1973 as the secretary of Devine Street School with 23 years of service. Along with her husband Morley, she served as secretary treasurer of (OAME) the Ontario Association for Mathematical Education. She was an active member of the Sarnia Liberal Association for over 60 years and was also active in numerous other charitable organizations. Mona will be fondly remembered by her past and present Bright Street neighbours. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE on Monday, September 21st., at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Raymond Hodgson officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Charity of Choice (cheques only please).
