Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on Thursday March 6, 2014 MERCEDES B. (KELLEY) MILLS has passed away at the age of 55. Loving daughter of David and Bronwen Kelley. Beloved wife of Gary Mills for 31 years. Cherished mother of Kelly Mortenson (Joe), David (Jessica) Mills and Ashley Mills. Dear grandmother of Thomas Cooper Mills, Morgan Ryle Mills and expected granddaughter baby Mills. Also survived by 4 wonderful sisters, Pam Kelley, Pat Kelley, Heather May and Jennifer Vail (Bill). Nieces Rebecca and Amanda May and nephew Justin Vail. In 1959 at the age of 1 yr, her mother took her to see Queen Elizabeth II as she drove by in her car going to Canatara Park. Mercedes was employed at the R. C. L. Br 62 as a bartender then spent the last 10 yrs at Sarnia Produce as a cashier where she enjoyed working with the Troiani family who she called her work family. She loved to read, make puzzle, go on road trip (drive only), her Friday nights scrapbooking, the ladies at Lasting Impressions and camping at Orchardview Trailer Park for 18 yrs. Mercedes treasured her time with Thomas and Morgan Ryle and her family.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice, Dr. Maddison, Dr. Dostaler, Dr. Yoshida, the nurses at the Cancer Clinic and her home care nurse Nicol McColl for their care and compassion.
Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, Breast Cancer Society or the Relay for Life.
