Mazie Brereton

January 29, 1924 — July 3, 2016

BRERETON-MAZIE (nee NICHOLS) - Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice at age 92, beloved wife of the late Elroy Brereton, loving mother of Brenda (James) Dean of Wellesley, and Matt (Kim) Brereton of Corunna. Dear Grandmother of Kelly, Candice, Marshall, Casey and great grandmother to Chanon, Presley, Sam and Mya.

Sister of the late Malcolm Nichols (2016), Madeline and Maxine. Mazie was a #1 Major League Baseball Fan. On her last day Roberto Alomar sent her a personal message “Hi Mazie.” She appreciated all her friends at Thompson Gardens and Tim Hortons. Mazie was fondly nicknamed “Prom Queen” and the “Road Runner” given to her by Dad. She loved life to the fullest and always was a willing participant.

Mazie was an inspiration to all.

The family would like to thank Dr. Crombeen, Palliative Care at Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their professional compassion.  At Mazie’s request there will be no funeral services. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Wyoming Cemetery.

Mazie is gone to the Great Baseball game in the sky where they serve Timmies.
