Mary Emily "Helen" Sargent

Mary Emily “Helen” Sargent passed away peacefully February 8, 2023, surrounded by family, at St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born January 9, 1931 to the late Norman and Daisy Sparling, sibling to Nancy and late Janey, Norma, and Robert. She was the loving wife of Norman Sargent (d. 2018) and the dear mother of Rick (Virginia) and Cindy (Bill), and deceased son Mark (Kathy). She was a cherished grandmother to Ryan, Christopher, Caleb (Melissa), Moira (Steve), Emily, and great grandmother to Paisley. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews. 

 Born and raised in Sarnia, Helen met the love of her life, Norman, and they were married in 1951. She worked as a cashier at A&P, retiring after 32 years. She spent summers at her beloved cottage in the Muskokas with family. Helen loved going for drives seeing the fall colours and exploring restaurants and stores in small towns on her outings. 

 Her death leaves a huge hole in her family and she will forever be remembered as a loving and caring matriarch. Helen’s family requests any donations made in her honour be sent to St Joseph’s Hospice https://www.stjosephshospice.ca/  where she received compassionate and loving end of life care. 

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J.
