Mary Lou Nickels (Daly) nee Pyette

She was born in Point Edward on December 31, 1935 to parents Charles and Elsie Pyette. Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband of 34 years Mark Nickels (2022). She is survived by her children from her first marriage to John A. Daly: John (Diane) Daly, Jenny (Tom) Flumerfelt, Ed (Peggy) Daly, Dan (Sandy) Daly and Nora (Kevin) Penhale. She was a Grandmother to eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Rochelle and Evie Pyette.

Mary Lou is predeceased by her grandson ‘Little’ Russell Flumerfelt, two brothers Tom and Ted Pyette and five sisters Sally Newman, Jeanette Morreau, Grace Folan, Kathie Mills and Jo-Ella Nickels.

Mary Lou retired after several years working for Catalytic. She married Mark and settled in to gardening and home decorating. They both enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the United States. She shared many fun times and parties with family and friends, and the getaways with her daughters and daughters-in-law to celebrate her birthday.

She was blessed to enjoy her five children and their accomplishments throughout her life and the wonderful enjoyment of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Dr. Greensmith and the staff at Bluewater Health Palliative Care unit. Thank you to the staff at Village on the St. Clair where Mary Lou resided and to residents Bruce, Winnie and Joyce for their friendship.
