Mary Jane Font

FONT, MARY JANE (MacDONALD) - After a lengthy illness Mary Jane died peacefully on May 19, 2015 at Bluewater Health. Mary Jane was born on December 24, 1956 (58 years) and has lived all of her life in Sarnia. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Don for 39 years and dear mother of Jen (Ed Young), Jeremy and Nana to Rachel. Mary Jane is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Noreen MacDonald and her nephew, Gregory Jones; Bill Font, Robert Font; Brother-in-Law Rick Waller; step-brother Wayne Gorrie; Step-Father Donald Gorrie. Beloved sister of Sister Ann, Windsor; Owen (Judy) Nelson, BC; Gerry (Dayle) Corunna; Larry (Margie) Mooretown; Sharon (Bob Wighton) Sarnia; Allan (Jeannie) Corunna; Cathy (Tim Laur) Sarnia; and Mike (Mary) Fort McMurray, AB. Daughter in law of Shirley Gorrie and Sister-in-law to Karen and Cheryl (Mike) Dunn of Sarnia. Mary Jane is also survived by an ever expanding group of nieces/nephews and grand nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the care that Mary Jane received these past years from V.O.N. Day Program; Red Cross Home Care and the Alzheimer's Society of Sarnia-Lambton. Special thanks to Susie, Lisa and Ileana who provided care for Mary Jane so she could remain in her home for as long as possible. The Nursing staff at Bluewater Health on 3rd floor, 5th floor and Palliative Care went to great lengths to keep Mary Jane comfortable in her last days. Gratitude to Dr. C. Arnold; the late Dr. J. Muhunthan; Dr. J. Uppal; Dr. Lubczanski; and Dr. G. Maddison who attended to Mary Jane as she faced into her Alzheimer disease. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Society, Red Cross Home Care or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 Victoria St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, May 21 from 7-9 pm. A celebration of life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 am.
