ELLIOTT, Mary (Mollie) A., July 3, 1927 - June 17, 2014 - Peacefully, just shy of her 87th birthday, after a long and debilitating illness. Predeceased by husband Rob, mother to sons Scott (Gwen) and Peter, Grandma to Shaun (Heather), Samantha, and Kevin (Emily) in Canada. Sister to Elma (Ian), Aunt to Shona (Stuart), Roy, and Bruce, Grandaunt to Jack, Rosi, and Emily in Scotland. Also survived by numerous cousins in Scotland and Australia. Born in a crofter's cottage in Airdrie, Scotland, Mollie grew up in Scotland before moving to Canada with her husband in 1952, living in Calgary, Ottawa, Sarnia, Toronto, Edmonton before retiring to Sarnia. She was talented in many areas, with a love for golf, tennis, sewing, knitting, cooking and an avid bridge player. Mollie was very proud of her Scottish heritage, especially the products of the distilleries, always ready to have a wee dram or two of the finest Scotch. An accomplished pianist, she could belt out all of her beloved Scottish songs. We will miss her much. Thanks to the staff at Vision Nursing Home for their care and compassion in her final days. By her wish, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this point. Sympathy donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE. Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through djrobb.on.ca mailto:djrobb@cogeco.net
