Martti Johannes Kuivila

Martti Johannes Kuivila, age 61, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bluewater  Health Hospital on October 23, 2015 in Sarnia, ON. He was born June 6th, 1954 in Lapua, Finland.  He moved to Thunder Bay, ON in 1978 and worked as a machinist for 32 years.  Martti enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Formula 1 racing, and giving a helping hand to his friends and family.
He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed laughing.

Martti is survived by his wife Pirjo; daughter Kristal; mother Mari;
sister Raija (Juha) Lepisto; brother Heikki (Katarina) Kuivila;
brother-in-law Kari (Susan) Silventoninen.   Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.  Martti is predeceased by his father Jussi.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
