Marilyn June Sheppard

SHEPPARD, MARILYN – At St. Joseph’s Hospice on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, Marilyn June (Dougherty) Sheppard, age 84 of Sarnia passed away. She was the dear wife of the late Allan A. Sheppard and loving mother of daughter Ruth Gartlan (Martin Randall) and Step-Daughter Noreen Taylor (Paul) and daughter in laws Jane and Rosemary Sheppard, grandmother of Jennifer (Jamie), Heather (Kerry), Andrew (Amy), Mark (Melanie) and Rachel, great-grandmother of Caleb, Nathan, Alexis, Aiden, Juliana, Kyle and Amy. She is also survived by her sister Arlene Wright. Several nieces and nephews survive. She was predeceased by her Step-Sons Brian and David Sheppard, her sister and brother, Shirley and Ross Dougherty. Marilyn was a longtime member of Central United Church, the church choir and the Elizabeth II Chapter, IODE. She was a volunteer with the Children’s Aid Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society and Parkinson’s Society Southwestern Ontario. Marilyn enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, sewing, traveling with friends and family and spending her summers at the family cottage. Cremation will take place and a private interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. A celebration of life for Marilyn Sheppard will be held at Central United Church (220 George St., Sarnia, N7T 4N9) on April 28, 2018 at 12:00pm with reception to follow. Memorial donations in memory of Marilyn made to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Cancer Society or the Parkinson’s Society Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia). Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
