Marie Florence Sheppard

Suddenly at University Hospital Cardiac Unit in London on April 20, 2020, Marie Florence (Provost) Sheppard, age 85 of Sarnia passed away. Marie was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Sheppard (2002) and dear mother of Denise (Steve) McManus of Corunna and Mark (Cathy) Sheppard of Bright’s Grove; loving grandmother to Brent, Chantelle, Devon, Jasmyne, Michael, Lisa and Rachel and eleven great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers; Johnny (Joan) Provost, Gerald (Karen) Provost, sisters Cecille LaPalme, Kathleen Domanski, Rosemarie Goudbout and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sons David in 1969 and Brian in 1992 and her younger siblings Phylis Cartier, Simone Droulliard, Dianne Hiles, Joe Provost and Wilfred Provost. Marie remained independent throughout her senior years and took enormous pride in maintaining her home, doing all her own cooking, cleaning and driving herself for shopping, appointments and visits. Marie was a skilled seamstress and spent winters inside sewing her wardrobe, making quilts, baking and reading with her furry companion Joey by her side. This spring, like every other she was busy finishing her inside spring cleaning routine. She was anticipating getting outside to plant her flowers and start enjoying her backyard oasis and competing for the greenest grass award. But a bigger wish was granted and she has been reunited with Papa Tom and her sons Brian and David. Marie was extremely thankful for all the support and companionship of her neighbors on the street, where she resided the past fifty years. A Celebration of Marie’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia Humane Society or a Charity of Choice. A Private family interment was held at Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9.
