Rutledge, (MacGregor) Marie – Peacefully at Fiddick’s Nursing Home on Saturday, February 1, 2020, Marie Rutledge passed away at the age 89. Predeceased by her husband Wray Rutledge in 1990 also predeceased by her parents Wallace and Sadie MacGregor, brother Morley MacGregor (1990) and his wife Mona (2009). Survived by nieces and nephews; Norma (Jim) Graham, Milton (Martha) MacGregor, Douglas (Evelyn) MacGregor, Eugene (Diane) MacGregor, Larry (Lynda) MacGregor and Natalie MacGregor. Also predeceased by nephew Alex MacGregor and niece Marjorie (Hank) Blankenstyn. Born on July 3, 1930 in Brooke Township. She taught 28 years at Johnson Memorial Public School; In 1977 Marie was elected provincial president of the Federation of Women’s Teachers Association of Ontario for 1977-78. She returned to teaching and finished her career at Blackwell Public School and Rosedale Public School in 1985. Marie was also an active member of the R.T.O. and R.W.T.O, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the IODE. Marie worked tirelessly for the rights of advancement of women teachers in Ontario. Marie is survived by 19 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Rosewood Manor for her excellent care during her 16 year residence. A private family interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (261 Christina Street, North, Sarnia) on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Emily Webb officiating. Memorial donations to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N.
