Margaret Anne (Mailer) Young

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Maggie) Young on July 5, 2024. 

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Maggie was a devoted wife to Tom for 51 years, and beloved mother and best friend to Richard and Jennifer. Her kids were her biggest and proudest accomplishment. Maggie was pre-deceased by her parents, Hugh and Mary Mailer, her sister Patricia Campbell, her brother Peter Mailer, and her in-laws Dick and Grace Young. She is survived by her sister Frances Leask. Maggie was an aunt, godmother, and friend to many who will sadly miss her. 

Maggie came to Canada from Edinburgh in 1966. She raised her family in Toronto and spent her retirement years in Sarnia. For Maggie, Scotland was always home. 

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Jocelyn, Sandy, Dr. Orla MacSweeny, and the entire Palliative Care team at Bluewater Health. Thank you for your kindness and the love you showed her over the last few weeks, and the endless support you gave to each of us.  

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place in the coming weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bluewater Health Palliative Care or Salvation Army in Maggie’s name would be appreciated.Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.J.
