AITKEN, MARGARET HUNTER - It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our “Mazzie”.  Margaret Aitken, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2016 at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia with family at her bedside.  Dear wife for 64 years of the late Archie Aitken (2009).  Loving mother of Irene (Wayne) Harris of Sarnia and Ron Aitken of Kingston, Ontario.  Devoted grandmother of Grant (Sandie) Harris, Lesley (Paul) Kuipers, Tracy (Keith) Bovingdon, Dan (Anik) Hill and Mat Hill.  Dear great grandmother to Rachelle, Maddison, Ryley, Ashlyn, Keira, Jaeden & Samantha.  Margaret was predeceased by her brother Archie and her sisters Ina & Helen in Great Britain.

Margaret was affectionately known as “Mazzie” to her loving family.  She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1924 and married Archie in Glasgow in 1945.  Margaret & Archie immigrated to Toronto in 1963 and eventually settled in Sarnia in 1975.

Archie was an active Mason & Shriner and was well known as the Shrine clown “Pazzie”.  Margaret was active in the Eastern Star & Daughters’ of the Nile and a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.  Margaret enjoyed an active social life in Sarnia & she had many friends who knew her as a “perfect lady”.  Mazzie is now reunited with her Pazzie and she will be missed very much by all who loved her.  Our family thanks the wonderful staff at Vision for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will take place at  D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (102 Victoria Street N) on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 am.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service.  In lieu of flowers donations to Vision Rest & Nursing Home, Sarnia, Ontario would be appreciated by the family.  Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through djrobb.on.ca
