Promoted to Glory on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, MAJOR KATHLEEN DOROTHY RANDALL (nee Shackles), at St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia, Ontario at the age of 91. “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John ll:25. After a very brief battle with Leukemia, Kathleen passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was the beloved wife of the late Major Donald Arthur Randall (1990) and loving mother of Donna Bowles (Brian), David Randall (Peggy), Karen Mott (Michael), Peter Randall (June), Grace McKinley (Jeff), dear grandmother of Amanda, Michael, Aaron, Amber, Connor, Ceili, Nolan, Adrian, Sonya, Danielle, Deonna, Dana, Darah, Dinah and Dreanna, and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Clow (the late Cliff Clow), brother Gerald Shackles (Denelda) and brother-in-law Derek Clayton. She was predeceased by sisters Edith Mills (Stan), Geraldine Clayton, Olive May Shackles, Norman (Doreen) and Alfred (Arthena) Blunden. Kathleen became a Christian at the age of 14 and attended the Salvation Army in Brockville where she was an active member in the Salvation Army Band as well as Songsters. Kathleen was Corp Secretary Treasurer at the young age of 16. Kathleen and husband, Donald served as Corp Officers for 36 years. Kathleen was also a League of Mercy visitor at various nursing homes, jails and hospitals. At the age of 91, Kathleen was active in Tai-Chi and was a weekly volunteer at Bluewater Health in the mammogram department; Kathleen has volunteered for 24 years with BWH. Kathleen was a ray of sunshine and touched many lives with her compassion, kindness and caring. Mom, “ We love you and will miss you more than words can say”. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia) on Thursday, September 27th between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service of Celebration and Praise will be held at the Salvation Army Sarnia Community Church, 970 Confederation St, Sarnia on Friday, September 28th, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Donations made to the Salvation Army or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
