It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Maisie (Kerr) Ross, age 82, at Vision Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Maisie was the dear wife of the late Norman Edward Ross (2015). She leaves behind her loving children Stephen (Gloria) and Andrew, her brother Jackie, as well as her grandchildren Carissa Hetu and Kyle (Sarah) Ross, and great-grandchildren Tycho and Dorian Ross and Breahna Hetu. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Ruth Kerr of Belfast, Northern Ireland, her brother Tommy and her sister Ruth in Australia, and her brothers Norman and Billy in Belfast.
Maisie was born and raised in Belfast and fell in love with a Canadian sailor from Point Edward. She let love guide her and came to Canada to marry Norman when she was just 20 years old. Maisie and Norm enjoyed a wonderful life together and were fortunate enough to travel the world, but they were never happier than when they holding hands watching the beautiful Lake Huron sunset at the end of their street.
Maisie was a stay-at-home mom when her boys were young, but later returned to work as a retail clerk at the Gift Emporium in the Lambton Mall for many years, followed by a position at the Oak Acres pharmacy until her retirement. Maisie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends who wish to pay their respects will be held at St. Giles Church, 770 Lakeshore Road Rd., Sarnia at 12 noon on May 21, 2022.
Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the local Alzheimer Society at https://alzheimer.ca/sarnialambton
The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Vision Nursing Home for the care and compassion they showed Maisie during her final days.
Private family cremation has been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9. Memories, photographs or messages of condolence may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca
