GANSLER, BETTY - Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario, Mabel Elizabeth “Betty” Gansler, passed away in her 100th year. She was born in Toronto on November 21, 1919 to George and Mabel Gregory. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend William (Bill) George Gansler (2010) and by her sister’s Eleanor Herd, Delphine Moore, her brother George Gregory as well as their spouses Bill Herd, Ghent Moore and Mollie Gregory. Betty is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear family friends. She attended Jarvis Collegiate Institute in Toronto later graduating with a Degree in Household Science from the University of Toronto in 1941. While attending University of Toronto, Betty was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity. She met Bill in 1942 and married, after a very short engagement during WWII, on August 7th, 1945. Betty and Bill moved to Sarnia in 1954 and together started their businesses, Tubefit Ltd. and Datasar Inc. In addition to being a dedicated loving wife and business partner, Betty enjoyed traveling the world, volunteering, entertaining, outings with her lady friends, family time at the cottage, attending the opera/theatre and was an active member of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club. She had a very generous heart and was a caregiver by nature. Betty will fondly be remembered for her genuine smile, her warm loving hugs, nose kisses and the energy she brought to every individual who was blessed to know and love her. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Marshall Gowland Manor, Dr. Allison Crombeen of Bluewater Health and their Palliative Care Unit for the compassion, human touch and loving care you provided Betty on her journey. Cremation has taken place and a private interment of ashes will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 10th, 2019 at Grace United Church, 990 Cathcart Blvd., Sarnia. Memorial donations made in memory of Betty to the Rotary Foundation or Bluewater Health Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J.
