KIRBY, Lucille Edith (nee Lumley)-A life lived abundantly and abundantly loved by many, Lou Kirby of Point Edward passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia at the age of 49+++ following surgical complications after a fall this past Tuesday. Lou was sustained, comforted and enriched by her deep Christian faith, study, and devotion. Beloved wife of the late Dennis Kirby (1974). Loving mother of Mary Margaret/Margie (Lou) Dallaire, JoAnne (Tom) Kirby, D. John (Janine) Kirby and Sue (Hank Gruben) Kirby. Treasured grandmother to Denise (Ian) Leduc, Mary-Lou (Mark) Hadden, Michelle (Jay) Cawker, Joe (Amanda) Dallaire, Jonathan (Christine) Kirby, Denny Kirby (Renee Lé¡pensé©e) and Melissa (Bob) Hooey. She was the cherished great grandmother of Erica (John) Quick, Deanna Leduc (Jason Koens), Jocelyn, Samantha and Charlotte Hadden, Christopher and Matthew Cawker, Joshua and Elijah Dallaire and Kaylie Kirby. Predeceased by her great grandson, Travis Leduc. Lou will be deeply missed by all who knew her including her dear friend John Emack. Over the years, Lou was involved in many volunteer activities including the VON, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Cross, and the Distress Centre Hotline. Lou was generous and kind. She was always willing to help family, friends, and anyone she met. She remained independent, living in her own home in Point Edward. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and going to the horse track, worked on word puzzles daily, and had a sharp and happy mind. The only pain she ever caused was when she said her final good-bye.
A special thank you for the wonderful care given by the doctors, nurses, and staff at Bluewater Health including: Dr. March, Dr. Davies, Kelsey, Erica, Chantal, Michelle, Tracy, Sarah, Sue, Theresa and Wanda. The prompt efforts to assist Mom by both the volunteers of the Red Cross Transportation Service and the staff and students of the Bluewater School of Hair Design were commendable, considerate and appreciated. Visitation will be held at the DJ.
