Peacefully at Twin Lakes Terrace on Friday March 14, 2014 LOUIS SYMEONAKIS age 89 of Sarnia. Beloved husband for 59 years of the late Olga (Tepoulis) Symeonakis (2011). Dear father of Dana Bettridge (John), Tom Symeonakis (Maureen) and Sheilla Major (Bob Angove).. Cherished Dedo of Brooke (Connor), Adam, Allen, Carly (Bob), Mark (Sara), Alexa and Tyler. Great-grandfather of Quinn, Carson and Graham. Brother of Olga (George) Gogas, Tom (Lika) Simeonakis and Mara Davidova. Predeceased by brothers Nick and Petro Symeonakis. Born in Kastoria (Mella) Greece, he immigrated to Canada in January of 1951 where he worked at the Town Restaurant for numerous years. Louis then went on to own and operate Ned's Coffee Shop for 5 years before becoming a member of the International Labourers Union where he retired after 25 years service. He was a prominent and longtime member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where the family will receive friends on Tuesday March 18th from the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1299 Murphy Rd. Sarnia) on Wednesday March 19th at 11:00 am. with Father Chrysostomos the celebrant. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph's Hospice or St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
