LORNE GEORGE ELLEY - In his 87th year, Lorne passed away after a long battle of Parkinson's Disease at Vision Nursing Home. He leaves behind his loving wife Ruth of 63 years and two daughters Dale Elley-Bristow and her husband Duncan of Sarnia and Denise Exler and her husband John of Newmarket, grandchildren Erin and Jaclyn Bristow, Rachel and Thomas Exler. Lorne was born in Beamsville, Ontario to parents Stanley and Alice (Case) Elley. He is survived by a brother Norman and sister Verna. Predeceased by sisters Velma, Dorothy and Oddy. Lorne lived in Hamilton attending Lloyd George High School. He enlisted in the navy in World War II, serving on HMCS Red Deer as a Sonar Operator. After the war, he built a home in Binbrook, Ontario and became a gentleman farmer working two acres and completed his Industrial Engineering Degree. He worked for 43 years at White-Westinghouse and later Camco, designing appliances. After retirement, he moved to Brantford for two years and then on to Sarnia. He enjoyed lawn bowling, square dancing, cards, bowling, little theatre, travel, camping and canoeing. Lorne was very family oriented, fun loving guy with a warm heart for others. A celebration of Lorne's life will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 pm. Entombment of ashes will take place later privately at Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
