Lloyd William Windover March 12 1943 é¢a" April 1, 2010 It is with great sadness that we report that Lloyd has passed away. He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Chowen), his four sons Jamie, Darcy, Michael (and wife Rebecca) and Corey, and his brother Paul (and wife Jean). Lloyd grew up in Petrolia and enjoyed his life on the nursery. He attended Teacher's College in London and taught in Sarnia at Lansdowne, Queen Elizabeth II, High Park, and Confederation Central Public Schools. He also served as a Vice Principal at Lansdowne and Bosanquet Public Schools. Lloyd is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario in History, a subject for which he had a great passion. Lloyd spent many hours volunteering in the community and was instrumental in the formation of the Sarnia Lakeshore Optimist Club and Sarnia Inline Hockey. He volunteered with the SMAA, Sarnia Hockey, and Lambton AAA Hockey for many years in various capacities and was recognized by being inducted into the Lambton County Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. Upon his retirement from teaching in 1998, he became involved with Theatre Sarnia, working Front of House for many shows at the Imperial Theatre. His sense of humour and happy infectious smile was greatly appreciated by everyone he knew, as was his strong sense of dedication, warmth, and compassion. We will all miss him dearly. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at the Imperial Theatre on Saturday, April 10. The Memorial will begin at 1:00pm. Visitors are welcome to present memories of Lloyd and to join the family afterwards at the Nova Room at the Imperial Theatre for refreshments. In lieu of flowers or other donations, it was Lloyd's wishes that contributions be made to the é¢aA"Lambton-Kent District School Board- Lloyd Windover Scholarship.é¢a Many thanks to Diana Wigchert and Amy Campbell, as well as the many doctors and medical staff at London Health Sciences, Sarnia Health Sciences, and the St. Joseph's Hospice, for their continuous help and support of Lloyd and his family throughout his three and a half year battle with cancer.
