Lillian Rose

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of LILLIAN EDITH (JAY) ROSE of Sarnia, on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Bluewater Health - Mitton St, in her 90th year. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Rose (1989), devoted mother of Bob and his wife Sally, Carol Revie and her partner Helmut Wagner, all of Sarnia and Brian and his wife Jane Anne of Corunna. She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Rob, Steve, Tim (Jacinta), Matt (Tammy) and Meghan, and great grandchildren Joey, Hailey and Maddison. Survived by sisters Connie Carey and Alberta Filip of Sarnia, and brother in laws Glen Wilson of Sarnia and Robert Rose and his wife Eeva of Ottawa. Predeceased by parents Albert (1965) and Annie (1974) Jay, sisters Eva McLean (Roy) of Strathroy, Victoria Haight (William) and Isobel Wilson all of Sarnia and brother in laws Gerald Carey and Alfred Filip. Lillian was born in Barrie, Ontario but spent most of her life in Sarnia. She was a member of St. Lukes United Church and Past Matron and life member of the Sarnia Chapter #6 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from Sears Canada and was an avid bridge player, loved to watch golf and figure skating and follow the stock market. Funeral services will be be held from the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St.) on Wednesday, March 24th at 1:00 pm. followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Eastern Star, Chapter #6 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. Memorial gifts to the Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation, Heart & Stroke or the Shriner's Hospital for Children would be appreciated (cheques only please).
