Leslie Thomas Pay, loving husband of Mary (Sinclair) Pay, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at Sumac Lodge, in Sarnia, Ontario.
Leslie is survived by his caring daughter Kerry (Danny) Walsh and son Michael (Rianne) Pay. He will be sadly missed by his cherished grandchildren Jeffrey (Katelyn) Walsh, Thomas Walsh, and James (Alanna Toner) Walsh. Leslie was predeceased by his parents Alfred Thomas and Frances (Hucklesby) Pay, of London, England.
During the Second World War, Leslie served with the British Royal Navy Air Service aboard the HMS Theseus and HMS Arthur. Leslie emigrated to Canada to pursue a teaching career, and spent a number of years teaching History of Art at Saint John High School, in Saint John, New Brunswick. He later moved to Sarnia, Ontario, where he continued teaching at Saint Claire High School and Central Collegiate High School. He was an accomplished artist in his own right, focusing largely on marine paintings and ship portraits.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Sumac Lodge for their care and devotion to both Leslie and his wife Mary during the time Leslie called the Lodge home.
