Leila Irene Cousineau

Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Saturday, September 10, 2022, Leila Irene (nee Joutsi) Cousineau, age 94 of Sarnia. She is predeceased by her loving husband Robert William Cousineau who passed away on July 2, 1998 and their dear son Robert Brian Cousineau who passed away on August 12, 2002 and her parents Niilo and Olga Joutsi. Will be greatly missed by her daughter Bonnie Barrett.

Cherished grandmother to Terry Morden (Kathy), Andrea Hands (Jeff), Ken Barrett (Christina), Amanda Scapinello (Andy), Brooke Cousineau (Blair Lucas), Christie Cousineau (Kevin Kwon), Drew Cousineau and her many great grandchildren.

Lee was a former member of RCAF 403 Wingette. She started working at B.M.O. on Mitton Street and retired from the B.M.O. on Christina Street.Lee had many hobbies including golfing, cross country skiing, quilting and knitting. Her greatest joy in life was her family who she enjoyed cooking and baking for them on every special occasion. She will especially be remembered for her cookies and pies.

The family would like to say a special thank - you to Vision Nursing Home and to the doctors, nurses and staff on the 3rd. floor for their wonderful care of Lee in her final days as well as the Village on the St. Clair staff where she resided for the past 5 years. Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 25, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 62 (286 Front Street, North, Sarnia, ON).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association https://www.diabetes.ca/, would be appreciated by the family.
