Lawrence "Benny" Bennewies

LAWRENCE (é¢a‚A"BENNYé¢a‚) BENNEWIES died on March 19, 2013, at the age of 101. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Cheryl Kramer of Welland and her husband Doug, his granddaughter Elaine Farr and her husband Mike of Niagara Falls, and his sister Irene Wassmann of London. He is predeceased by Mildred, his wife of 60 years, and his brother Edwin and sister Verna. Benny has lived in Sarnia since 1944. He retired from the Union Gas Co. in 1976. Over the years, he was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Strangway Community Centre, and the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club. The funeral service will take place at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 429 Indian Road North, on Monday, March 25th at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Roger Ellis officating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the D.J.ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE , 102 N. Victoria St., on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church at 429 Indian Road N., or Strangway Community Centre at 260 East St. N, or the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia - Lambton at 420 East Street N., Suite 8.
