GAVAN, Lana Ruth. The family of Lana Gavan sadly announces her sudden, but peaceful, passing on Saturday, March 7th, 2015, at the age of 65. Lana is survived by her daughter, Melanie Gavan and her husband Tony Phillips of Ottawa, her son, Brian Gavan, his wife, Elvira and her newborn grandson, Alexander Gavan, all of Whistler, BC; her mother, Genevieve McLaughlin, of Sarnia; her sister Linda Nantais (Mike) of Miller Lake and her sister Jeannette Paterson (Bert) of Sarnia. She was predeceased by her father, Alvin McLaughlin (2002). Lana will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews, Susanne Rogers (Mark) of Kingsville; Karen Nantais of Vancouver; David Kilbreath of St. Thomas; Aaron Kilbreath (Lauren) of Bright's Grove; Adam Paterson and Fraser Paterson, both of Sarnia. Lana always had a special place in her heart for her great nieces and nephews, Brady and Lauryn Rogers, Emma Kilbreath, Lily and Jack Kilbreath, and her many fellow nursing friends. She worked for many years as a compassionate, competent and well-respected registered nurse, both in the Emergency Room at St. Joseph's Hospital and in the Intensive Care Unit at Sarnia General Hospital. She loved boating, the beach, warm sunny weather and her beautiful apartment overlooking Lake Huron. She also spent many enjoyable winters down in Cape Coral, Florida, where she made lasting friendships. In keeping with Lana's wishes cremation has taken place and A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations to The Canadian Diabetes Association, in Lana's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (102 N. Victoria St. at Davis).
