Kenneth Leonard Maness Jr.

February 28, 1971 – June 29, 2024

Suddenly and unexpectantly in his homeland of Aamjiwnaang, Kenneth Leonard Maness Jr. (aka Sonny, tick) passed away at the age of 53. He is predeceased by both his parents Kenneth Maness Sr. & Shirley Maness (nee Joseph) and his older siblings Veda Stow/George and Arthur Stow/George & his little brother Samson Maness. His grandparents Gordon and Elsie Jacobs (Gray), William Joseph and Blanche Henry.

Kenneth was a father to Amber Eggerton & Kenny Maness. He was a little brother to Don Stow/George and was a big brother to Summer Maness (Andy Brooks). Shared an unbreakable bond with his nieces and nephews, Brandee Brooks(Oakis Sands), Chynna Brooks (Tim Cunningham), Darryl Brooks (Teya Smith), Evan Brooks (Shae Tuckey), Fischer Brooks, Chance Maness & Autumn Maness. Kenneth had so much love and pride for his super nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was a legacy in our community, sharing so many talents. His amazing art work, his ways with poetry and his hand made dream catchers. His contagious smile and laugh. He was always ready to defend his family and his community by always being ready for anything whether it was a rally or protest.

Kenneth cherished his time with extended family and friends, making memories with everyone he loved. It was never a dull moment when Kenneth was around, we will all miss your big energy and free spirit.

We will see you again whether it be in a dream, a ceremony, or in the spirit realm.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
